ASTM International Building Sealants Committee Elects Rodney C. Conn as New Chair

ASTM International Committee C24 on Building Seals and Sealants has elected Rodney C. Conn, applied technology manager for Degussa Corp. in Piscataway, N.J., as its new chairman. The group consists of close to 250 members who have jurisdiction over almost 100 standards published in the Annual Book of ASTM Standards.

Conn lives in Emmaus, Pa.

An ASTM International member since 1989, Conn serves on several C24 subcommittees, and actively participates in the work of ASTM Committees D06 on Paper and Paper Products, D14 on Adhesives, and E56 on Nanotechnology. He is also affiliated with Committees D01 on Paint and Related Coatings, Materials and Applications, D22 on Air Quality, E06 on Performance of Buildings, E43 on SI Practice and G03 on Weathering and Durability.

Conn started his career with Macco Adhesives as a chemist and worked at UCAR Emulsions as a technical service chemist before joining the staff of Degussa Corp. With his work at Degussa, Conn has been involved in technical support; previously he had done research in adhesives and sealants.

A graduate of the University of Akron, Conn is a member of the American Chemical Society and the Society of Automotive Engineers.
