ASTM International Announces G. Robert Goss as New Chair of Committee on Pesticides

ASTM International Committee E35 on Pesticides and Alternative Control Agents has appointed G. Robert Goss, vice president, research and product, at Oil-Dri Corp. in Vernon Hills, Ill., as its new chairman.  The committee includes more than 200 members who have jurisdiction over 80 ASTM standards related to the safety, efficacy and impact of pesticides and biological agents, devices and equipment in certain environments.

A resident of Kenosha, Wis., Goss joined ASTM International in 1985.  In addition to his work on the E35 main committee, he is also active in ASTM Subcommittee E35.22 on Pesticide Formulations and Delivery Systems. 

Goss, who has been with Oil-Dri Corp. since 1984, assumed his current position in 2005.  His career concentration has focused on industrial applications of clay minerals, specifically the use of clay minerals as agricultural chemical carriers.  He holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from Loyola University Chicago in Illinois.
