ASTM International Air Quality Committee Presents Top Annual Award to Michael J. Brisson

ASTM International’s Committee on Air Quality (D22) will present its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Michael J. Brisson of the Savannah River National Laboratory, in Aiken, South Carolina, U.S.A. The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for individual contributions to developing standards.

The committee is honoring Brisson for outstanding leadership and personal dedication in the development of ASTM International standards in air quality, including workplace air and air quality control procedures. Brisson has been a member of ASTM International since 2005, and has received a variety of additional awards including the Award of Appreciation (2008 & 2013), and the ASTM International James A. Thomas President’s Leadership Award (2009), among others.

Brisson is a fellow technical advisor at the Savannah River National Laboratory. Brisson has been at the Savanna River National Laboratory since 1988, having previously served as a Chemist with Beecham Products.

In addition to ASTM, Brisson is a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association, and the Project Management Institute.
