Wood Swellometer Task Group Seeks Participants for Round Robin

ASTM International Task Group D01.42.20 is soliciting participants to conduct a round robin to evaluate the precision of ASTM standard D 4446, Test Method for Anti-Swelling Effectiveness of Water-Repellent Formulations and Differential Swelling of Untreated Wood When Exposed to Liquid Water Environments. This standard is commonly known as the wood swellometer test and is widely used by manufacturers of water repellent coatings for wood. All materials and equipment will be submitted to volunteers; a basic knowledge of the method and access to a standard conditioning environment is required.

Task group D01.42.20 is part of Subcommittee D01.42 on Architectural Coatings, which is under the jurisdiction of Committee D01 on Paint and Related Coatings, Materials and Applications.
