William A. Ells, vice president of sales at Vibram USA (North Brookfield, Massachusetts, USA), has started his two-year term as vice chair of the ASTM International board of directors. 

Ells was elected to the executive committee as vice chair by the ASTM membership. He previously served on the board of directors from 2018 to 2020 and as finance and audit committee chair in 2020. 

With Vibram USA since 2010, Ells has been involved in the design, development, and production of footwear and sole materials for military, industrial, and outdoor use. He previously worked in sales at American Biltrite Inc. and Quabaug Corp before joining Vibram USA.

An ASTM International member since 1998, Ells is a member of the pedestrian/walkway safety and footwear committee (F13). He is also a member of the F13 executive committee and has previously served as its vice chair and as subcommittee officer. Ells has been honored with the Award of Merit, Service Award, and Outstanding Leadership Award for his contributions to ASTM International.
