Wes Balentine Honored by ASTM International Carbon Black Committee

Wes Balentine, former manager of manufacturing then national accounts manager at J.M. Huber Corporation and founder of Balentine Enterprises Inc., Borger, Texas, USA, was honored with the Jeff Melsom Distinguished Service Award by ASTM International’s carbon black committee (D24). 

An ASTM International member since 1960, Balentine was honored for 23 years of outstanding dedication and contributions to the committee on carbon black in developing and advancing the technical quality of carbon black standards.

Following retirement, Balentine founded Balentine Enterprises Inc. in 1994 and sold carbon black standards until 2019, having previously held many positions with J. M. Huber Corporation since 1960. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from West Texas State University.

In addition to ASTM International, Balentine was a member of the American Chemical Society.
