ASTM International Accepting Applications for 2008 Mather Scholarship

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2008 ASTM International Katharine and Bryant Mather Scholarship. Administered by ASTM International Committee C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates, the scholarship applies to students pursuing degrees specializing in cement or concrete materials technology  or concrete construction.

Proposed ASTM Standard Covers Vacuum Cleaner Bag Emissions

Particulate matter emitted during the use of a vacuum cleaner is a significant area of concern that ASTM International Committee F11 on Vacuum Cleaners has dealt with by developing and approving F 2608, Test Method for Determining the Change in Room Air Particulate Counts as a Result of the Vacuum Cleaning Process.

Participation Encouraged in New ASTM Sensory Instrument Test Results Group

All interested parties are invited to participate in a new task group on instrument test results for sensory evaluation of consumer products, including food and cosmetics. The new task group will be part of ASTM International Committee E18 on Sensory Evaluation and will meet during the E18 meetings at April committee week in Anaheim, Calif.
