ASTM International will hold an organizational meeting to potentially create a new technical committee that develops voluntary consensus standards for the recycled vulcanized rubber industry. This includes both rubber and carbon black and has many practical applications including use in plastics, strengthening concrete, and infill for playgrounds. Since 2009, the National Fire Protection Association has required arc rated gloves in its NFPA70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.
