ASTM International announced the graduate student winners of four $10,000 scholarships for their studies in fields where technical standards play a crucial role. This year’s winners were chosen from a competitive pool of various applicants. The following candidates will receive the 2023 ASTM International graduate scholarships:, Clara Eichler, is a Ph.D. student in environmental sciences and engineering at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Clara is an active member on D22.05 with interest in working for EPA or NIST to help contribute to advancing research and standards in her field., Md Abir Hossain, is a Ph.D. student in mechanical and aerospace engineering at Ohio State University. Md Abir has used published research using ASTM fatigue and fracture standards, and plans to continue to use them as he pursues a career as a tenured university professor. , Diana Wyman, is a Ph.D. student in fiber and polymer science at North Carolina State University. Diana is a previous winner of this scholarship award who once again impressed the review team with her active engagement and contributions to the work of Committee D13., Omid Vakili, is a Ph.D. student in biomedical physiology and kinesiology at Simon Fraser University (Canada).
