Wohlers Associates, powered by ASTM International, recently launched a new, more interactive website. The site will serve as a hub for knowledge acceleration within the additive manufacturing (AM) industry.

Through the new site, visitors can access the Wohlers Report using a new automated ordering and provisioning system. They can also connect with the team of consultants and learn about what’s happening in the AM industry. Visitors can peruse resources, including a blog and audio series, and learn about upcoming training and other events.

Wohlers Associates and America Makes are partnering to offer a three-day design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) course. The July 18-20, 2022, course will be held at America Makes’ headquarters in Youngstown, Ohio. The course is open to the public, with members of America Makes enjoying discounted pricing.

Today, ASTM International announced the Powder Bed Fusion – Laser Beam (PBF-LB) Machine Operator Certification program developed by the ASTM International Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AM CoE). This certification provides a benchmark for assessing reliable and competent operations of metal PBF-LB machines.

Built on the joint ISO/ASTM standard for qualifying machine operators of laser metal PBF machines and equipment (ISO/ASTM 52942:2020), the new certification provides operators in compliance with the standard a stamp of approval.

Today, Wohlers Associates, powered by ASTM International, announced the publication of Wohlers Report 2022. This marks the 27^th consecutive year of publishing the industry-leading annual report. It provides new content and expert analysis on additive manufacturing (AM) and 3D printing worldwide. 

Research for Wohlers Report 2022 shows AM industry growth of 19.5% in 2021. This is up from 7.5% growth in 2020, which was impacted greatly by the pandemic.

Two of the world’s leading standards organizations have signed a commercial technology agreement that aims to expand the reach of their respective standards and related technical documents.

ASTM International is no longer selling its 11-volume printed Petroleum Measurement Tables, a historical document created in 1980. This has been superseded by updates from the American Petroleum Institute’s Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards, a jointly developed document linked to an existing ASTM International standard and its adjunct.

This updated approach considers a broader range of temperature and also takes into account pressure effects on volume correction factors, a combination that more accurately depicts actual field conditions, according to API. 

Today,global standards organization ASTM International announced the release of the Fuels and Lubricants Handbook: Technology, Properties, Performance, and Testing. The handbook is the second edition of the best-selling fuels manual. 

Originally published in 2003, the second edition features fourteen new chapters, with most chapters completely rewritten.

Today, global standards organization ASTM International announced that it is a supporting partner of ARABLAB 2020, March 15-18, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. 

ARABLAB is considered the largest global trade show for laboratory science and instrumentation, with an expected 10,000 visitors from over 100 countries. The event will feature more than 1,000 exhibitors showcasing the newest technologies from laboratories worldwide.
