ASTM International’s cement committee (C01) has presented its Bryant Mather Award to Steve Wilcox, consultant with S&S Wilcox Enterprises, LLC.

Wilcox was recognized for the expertise and mentorship that marks his decades-long career within the cement industry, which also includes service as chair of subcommittees C01.10, C01.27, and C01.95, which helped strengthen ASTM’s cement standard specifications.

An ASTM International member since 1990, Wilcox has been previously honored by the committee with the Award of Merit and three Awards of Appreciation, two from C01 and one from C09.

Wilcox’s career concentration is cement performance and technical leadership. He has managed his own consultancy since 2023, previously working as U.S. technical director for Argos USA, a position he held for 12 years and a total of 39 years in the cement industry.

Wilcox earned his bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Dalhousie University in 1982.
