ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Bruce Darling for his contributions to ASTM’s roofing and waterproofing committee (D08).

The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. Darling was recognized for his highly effective leadership, tirelessness, and ability to move subcommittee affairs forward through contentious issues.

An ASTM International member since 1983, Darling had been previously honored by the committee with two Awards of Appreciation (2001) and the Distinguished Leadership Award (2013).

Darling has served as the president of BPD Roof Consulting, Inc. since 1997, and along with ASTM, he has professional memberships in such organizations as the Roof Consultants Institute, Construction Specifications Institute, and Connecticut Roofing Contractors Association.
