ASTM International Honors Graeme Anderson with Top Annual Award from Key Committee

ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Graeme Anderson, for his contributions to ASTM’s nonferrous metals and alloys committee (B02).

The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. Anderson was recognized for his outstanding leadership, service, and significant multifaceted technical contributions to the B02 committee, as well as for his work as a long range planning chair and committee vice chair.

An ASTM International member since 1998, the committee has previously honored Anderson with the Gary Kralik Distinguished Service Award (2014) and the Award of Appreciation (2011).

Over the past 40 years, Anderson has focused his career on the nonferrous metals industry, with emphasis on precious metals, zinc and zinc alloy applications. He has primarily been involved with product development, quality assurance, customer technical services, and technical marketing

Anderson currently serves as the manager of Technical and Marketing Services at Teck Metals Ltd. (previously Teck-Cominco and Cominco), a position he has held since 2007.   

In addition to ASTM International, Anderson is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario, the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, the Minerals, Metals and Materials Society, the Association for Iron and Steel Technology, the North American Die Casting Association, and the Society of Automotive Engineers.
