ASTM International Honors Tripp Fischer with Top Annual Award

ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Tripp Fischer for his contributions to ASTM’s committee on environmental assessment, risk management and corrective action (E50).

The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. Fischer was recognized for his two decades of service, authoring numerous standards, fostering productive collaboration among ASTM members, and improving ASTM’s standing around the world.

An ASTM International member since 2002, Fischer has been previously honored with a COS Service Award in 2019, the Robert J. Painter Award in 2019 by ASTM and the Society for Standards Professionals, and the E50 Award of Recognition in 2016.

Since 2021, Fischer has been chief science officer at Brownfield Science and Technology Inc. (BSTI) in Cochranville, Pennsylvania. BSTI offers a wide range of specialty services in the earth sciences including soil, wastewater, surface water, and groundwater quality evaluations, environmental remediation, environmental forensics, and environmental consulting.

In addition to work at ASTM International, Fischer is a member of the American Bar Association. He is also an advisory board member to the dean of sciences and mathematics at West Chester University and on the civil and environmental engineering technology advisory board at Delaware Technical Community College. Fischer earned a master of engineering degree in engineering science (environmental) from the Pennsylvania State University and a bachelor of science degree in geology from West Chester University.
