ASTM International Honors Milan Brumovský with Nuclear Technology Award

ASTM International’s committee on nuclear technology and applications (E10) presented the Peter D. Hedgecock Award to Milan Brumovský. He was recognized for his sustained and exceptional contribution to the development and use of consensus standards and technical contributions in the field of nuclear technology.

Brumovský’s career concentrations include research of materials behavior and testing, as well as other expert services in the field of reactor materials. He has been an ASTM International member since 1991, and also has professional memberships in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Czech Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Brumovský works at UJV Řež in the Czech Republic as an expert and reactor pressure vessel projects manager. In 1972, he received his Ph.D. in experimental solid state physics from the Moscow Institute of Engineering Physics, and his RNDr. in solid state physics from Charles University in Prague.
