ASTM International Honors Larry Watzke with Top Annual Award

ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Larry Watzke for his contributions to ASTM’s committee on steel, stainless steel, and related alloys (A01).

The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. Watzke was recognized for his generous leadership as a subcommittee chair, long-term contributions and mentorship, and industry expertise on carbon steel tubing.

Now semi-retired, Watzke spent his time at ASTM as manager of quality systems at Valmont Industries, Inc. Tubing Division in Valley, Nebraska, a world leader in design and manufacture of pivot and linear irrigation equipment, windmill support structures and other energy support products.
