ASTM International Honors Paul Wells with Top Annual Award

ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Paul Wells for his contributions to ASTM’s petroleum products, liquid fuels, and lubricants committee (D02).

The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. Paul was recognized for his ready technical expertise, globally-significant impact on the fuel industry, his inquisitive and passionate work as a research scientist and ballot secretary.

An ASTM International member since 2007, Paul had been previously honored by the committee with the Award of Appreciation (2013), the Award of Excellence (2014), the Eagle Award (2019) and the Award of Recognition (2020).

Paul is currently an advanced research associate at ExxonMobil Technology and Engineering Co., where he has worked since 1989. He graduated from Villanova University in 1989 with a bachelor of chemical engineering degree, and then from the Wharton Management program in 2000. His professional memberships include the Energy Institute Aviation Fuel Filtration Committee, the UK Ministry of Defense Aviation Fuels Committee, and the International Association for the Stability, Handling, and Use of Liquid Fuels.
