ASTM International Honors John Rosengard with 2022 President’s Leadership Award

ASTM International presented its President’s Leadership Award to John Rosengard for significant contributions to ASTM’s environmental risk management committee (E50).

The President’s Leadership Award recognizes individuals early in their ASTM International career who have significantly advanced ASTM’s mission through extraordinary accomplishment, example, and vision. The award is given in honor of James A. Thomas, who served as ASTM International president from 1992 to 2017.

Rosengard was recognized for his foundational work towards developing standards of environmental accountability, and for broadly and expertly advancing ASTM’s mission. Most notably, he developed an analytical framework for quantifying environmental costs in order to create business standards that benefit the public.

An ASTM International member since 2016, Rosengard had been previously honored by the committee with Distinguished Service Awards in 2017, 2018 and 2020.

Rosengard has also served as president of Environmental Risk Communications, Inc. since 1994. In the years prior, he was a student of business administration, receiving his bachelor of science degree from Georgetown University in 1983, and his master’s of business administration in 1990.
