ASTM International Honors George Wilson with George V. Dyroff Award

George R. Wilson, III, scientist emeritus recently retired from Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, Texas, has received the 2022 George V. Dyroff award from ASTM International for his contributions to the petroleum products, liquid fuels, and lubricants committee (D02).

Wilson was recognized for his industry-renowned expertise, innovation in the research of fuels and lubricants, and many services to committee D02 over the course of his distinguished career.

A long-time ASTM International member, Wilson had been previously honored by the committee with the Award of Excellence (2001), the Award of Appreciation (2007), the Eagle Award (2014), an Award of Merit (2019), and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Association for Stability and Handling of Fuels (2013).

Prior to his retirement, Wilson worked for nine years as principal scientist at the Southwest Research Institute. He retired in 2021.
