ASTM International’s aviation fuel technical sections will gather in Brussels, Belgium, for a weeklong conference from April 7-11, 2025. ASTM will be hosting this series of events at the Brussels Marriott Hotel Grand Place. In addition to technical meetings, the week will include seminar focused on synthetic aviation turbine fuel (SATF), and an ASTM International training program.
The ASTM aviation fuels subcommittee (D02.J0) contains the following working Sections:
- Jet fuel specifications (D02.J0.01);
- Aviation piston engine fuels (D02.J0.02);
- Combustion and thermal properties (D02.J0.03);
- Additives and electrical properties (D02.J0.04);
- Fuel cleanliness (D02.J0.05), and;
- Synthetic aviation turbine fuels (D02.J0.06).
Members of D02.J, represent a diverse set of aviation fuels stakeholders, including all major engine and aircraft manufacturers, fuel producers, and regulators from around the world.
The week will begin with a full-day seminar on synthetic aviation turbine fuel (SATF) on April 7. There will be a nominal fee to attend.
Technical meetings for the Subcommittee Sections will happen from April 8-10. These meetings are open, at no charge, to all registered attendees, both ASTM members and non-members. The meetings will provide in-depth discussions on a variety of subjects, including progress towards unleaded aviation gasoline, special topic presentations on D4054, and advancements in co-processing.
The week will include the ASTM technical training program on aviation fuels from April 9-11. There will be a fee to attend this course.
Organized in 1904, D02 on petroleum products, liquid fuels, and lubricants, is one of ASTM International’s oldest committees, as well as its largest. The committee includes more than 2,400 members from 65 countries. The committee has developed more than 800 standards and has sponsored numerous technical publications, laboratory quality assurance programs, and technical and professional training courses, workshops, and symposia.
