Michael Anderson Receives Top ASTM International Award for Contributions to Key Committee

ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Michael Anderson, Area Manager of Latin America at Falex Corporation, for his contributions to the petroleum products, liquid fuels, and lubricants committee (D02).

The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. Anderson was honored for his outstanding committee leadership and significant contributions towards improvements within the fuels and lubricants marketplace for consumers.

An ASTM International member since 1982, Anderson has previously been recognized with the Award of Appreciation (1994) and the Award of Excellence (2002, 2004). He is also a member of the committees on advanced ceramics (C28), rolling element bearings (F34), and wear and erosion (G02).

Anderson has served in his current position since 2009, having previously held positions at International Harvester Company and Keil Chemical before joining Falex Corporation in 1984.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and business economics from Illinois Benedictine College. In addition to ASTM International, Anderson is also a member of the National Lubricating Grease Institute, European Lubricating Grease Institute, and Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers, serving as society president from 2017-2018.
