Key ASTM International Committee Presents Top Annual Award to John Meyer

ASTM International’s committee on concrete pipe (C13) presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to John J. Meyer of J&J Engineering, LLC, in Wales, Wisconsin, USA. The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for individual contribution to developing standards. 

Meyer was honored for outstanding contributions and exceptional leadership in the development, coordination, and advancement of standards in the committee, which are of maximum value to the consumer, engineer, and design professional.

A member of ASTM International since 1989, Meyer has also received the Robert R. Litehiser Award (2010) and the Merlin G. ‘IB’ Spangler Award (2013) from the committee. 

Meyer founded J&J Engineering, LLC where he works as a consultant. He previously worked as a general manager for the American Concrete Pipe Company, manager of marketing services with Cretex Companies, Inc., executive director of the Wisconsin Concrete Pipe Association, and more. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville.  

In addition to ASTM International, Meyer serves as a trustee on the Village Board of Wales, Wisconsin, and is a member of the Transportation Research Board, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers.
