Key ASTM International Committee Honors Ying Wang with Scholarship Award

ASTM International’s concrete and concrete aggregates committee (C09) honored Ying Wang, Ph.D. student at the University of Miami, with the Katharine and Bryant Mather Scholarship Award.

The Katharine and Bryant Mather Scholarship Award is presented annually to full-time undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees specializing in cement or concrete materials technology or concrete construction. 

Wang is a Ph.D. student and research and teaching assistant at the University of Miami and an ASTM International student member. Her research focuses on the reactivity and beneficial reuse of marginal unconventional source fly ash and other solid waste materials. 

Wang holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from the University of Science and Technology Beijing. In addition to ASTM International, Wang is a member of the American Concrete Institute, International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials, Systems and Structures, American Ceramics Society, and Environmental Research and Education Foundation Scholar.
