Key ASTM International Committee Honors Amy L. Edwards with Award of Excellence

ASTM International’s environmental assessment, risk management and corrective action committee (E50) presented the Gwen Eklund Award of Excellence to Amy L. Edwards.

Edwards was honored for her continuing leadership and support of standards related to environmental site assessments, risk-based corrective action, and environmental risk management. 

An ASTM International member since 1991, Edwards has previously been recognized with the Industry Leadership Distinguished Service Award (2018) and Founding Committee Award (2020). She is also a member of the sustainability committee (E60).

Edwards has served as a partner at Holland & Knight since 1994. She previously worked as a clerk for two administrative law judges at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) before holding positions at various law firms in the D.C. metro area, including Hazel & Thomas and Frank, Bernstein, Conaway & Goldman. Edwards was instrumental in developing the Uniform Environmental Covenants Act which provides a standardized process for creating, documenting, and assuring the enforceability of activity and use limitations on contaminated sites.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in government from Smith College and a juris doctor degree from George Washington University. In addition to ASTM International, Edwards is also a member of the American Bar Association – Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources, American College of Environmental Lawyers, and Women’s Bar Association.
