ASTM International Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Algerian National Standards Body

ASTM International and the Institut Algérien de Normalisation (IANOR) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The MoU seeks to strengthen the relationship between ASTM and IANOR, support the needs of the Algerian people, continue growth of the economy, and aid in the development of Algerian national standards for health, safety, and the environment.

IAPMO, ASTM International Sign MOC for Asia-Based Standards Activity

Today, global standards organizations ASTM International and the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) signed a memorandum of cooperation (MOC) to promote collaboration in initiatives that advance public health and safety.

The MOC relates directly to water sanitation and hygiene in Indonesia, the Philippines, and other selected member nations of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). ASTM International President Katharine Morgan signed the document with IAPMO CEO GP Russ Chaney.

ASTM International Announces AM Data Strategic Guide with America Makes, Debuts Insight Video, New Data Subcommittee

Today, ASTM International’s Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AM CoE), in collaboration with America Makes, debuted a strategic guide that identifies gaps, challenges, solutions, and action plans for additive manufacturing (AM) data.

ASTM International Makes Key Global Cooperation and Trade Hires

Today, global standards organization ASTM International has announced two key hires to support the organization’s global cooperation and international trade efforts. Craig Updyke will serve as the organization’s director of global policy and international trade in the Washington office, and Maria Jiverage will serve as the manager of global cooperation and training in ASTM’s global headquarters in West Conshohocken, PA.

ASTM International Announces Additive Manufacturing Roadmap, Makes Key Hires

Today, ASTM International’s Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AM CoE) released the public version of its Strategic Roadmap for Research and Development (R&D). The roadmap communicates the goals and current progress of the center’s R&D program to the additive manufacturing (AM) community. 

ASTM International Cancels June In-Person Standards Meetings

In light of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and ongoing safety concerns for members and staff, ASTM International announced today that all previously scheduled in-person June standards development meetings (including independent meetings) have been canceled. 

Last month, ASTM International announced the cancellation of all May in-person meetings

Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence to Host Virtual Workshop on AM Technology Adoption

The ASTM International Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AM CoE) has announced a virtual workshop on accelerating additive manufacturing (AM) technology adoption through standardization and certification, April 22. The workshop is presented in partnership with TÜV SÜD, a German testing and certification organization. 

Exo Technology Center of Excellence Announces Student Paper Competition, Hosts Advisory Board Meeting

Today, ASTM International’s Exo Technology Center of Excellence announced a student paper competition on designing safe exoskeletons and exosuits. The paper competition encourages students to develop, present, and publish high-quality research papers in the area of exo technologies, including exoskeletons, exosuits, and related wearable technology.
