NEW EPA Rule on Greenhouse Gases References 42 ASTM Standards

ASTM International Holds Successful TC Meetings Event in Prague, Czech Republic

Four ASTM International technical committees met October 5-9 in Prague, Czech Republic. The committees were: D24 on Carbon Black, E55 on Manufacture of Pharmaceutical Products, F02 on Flexible Barrier Packaging and F40 on Declarable Substances in Materials.

The D24 carbon black subcommittees that are meeting include sampling and statistics, rubber testing, and microscopy and morphology, as well as the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO TC 45/SC 3/WG 3 on Carbon Black. 

ASTM International and the Performance Testing Council to Hold Virtual Meeting on New Standards Activity

Interested parties are invited to attend a virtual meeting Oct. 29, 1:00-4:00 p.m. (EST), on a new ASTM International standardization activity on performance testing. The meeting will be held in conjunction with the Performance Testing Council, a major advocate of the development and use of performance testing tools, methods and technology.

 In a 2008 Annual Report, the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization outlines the success of a memorandum of understanding that was signed with ASTM International in 2007. 

Established in 1972, the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO) is responsible for determining and enforcing approved standards for services, facilities, utilities and products within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Standards Officer from the Bureau of Standards Jamaica to Participate in Training Program at ASTM International

Mr. Ajani Blake, a standards development and certification officer at the Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ), will spend time at ASTM International headquarters in West Conshohocken, Pa., this fall as part of the ASTM Standards Expert Exchange Program (SEEP).
