ASTM International’s unmanned aircraft systems committee (F38) is hosting a webinar on Aug. 13, 2024, entitled, ‘Expanding Drone Operations through Industry Standards.’

The webinar will be an interface between regulatory and industry sectors of unmanned aircraft. Attendees can hear updates and learn about developing drone operation standards and the role they play within the field.

Several speakers will represent aviation authorities from Japan, Europe, Canada, and the United States to discuss recent regulatory progress. Presentations will follow from members of F38’s various subcommittees, including airworthiness (F38.01), flight operations (F38.02), personnel (F38.03), and infrastructure (F38.04).

“As countries around the globe seek to expand drone operations, the call for industry standards is rising,” says Mark Blanks, chair of F38 and head of global flight operations at Wing. “ASTM F38 is focused on meeting the need for standardization with technical content that facilitates increasingly complex and scaled operations.
