Betsy L. Hoppe Honored with ASTM International Distinguished Service Award

ASTM International presented the Kenneth J. Boedecker, Jr. Distinguished Service Award to Betsy L. Hoppe, quality systems manager for Steelscape, LLC. Hoppe was honored in recognition of her exemplary contributions to the success of the metallic-coated iron and steel products committee (A05). 

An ASTM International member since 2010, Hoppe is also part of the ASTM International committees nonferrous metals and alloys (B02), steel, stainless steel and related alloys (A01), paint and related coatings, materials, and applications (D01), and cannabis (D37). She has previously been recognized with the Five Year Service Award (2015) and Award of Appreciation (2018) from A05 and the Five Year Service Award (2019) from B02.

Hoppe has served at Steelscape since 1996 and in her current position since 2013, having previously held positions at National Steel Corporation Great Lakes Division and Kaiser Aluminum Newark Works. She holds a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from University of Cincinnati. 

In addition to ASTM International, Hoppe is a member of the Association of Women in the Metal Industries and National Coil Coating Association.
