ASTM International’s adult safety products subcommittee (F15.70) is seeking help reviewing its specification for adult portable bed rails and related products (F3186). The subcommittee is part of ASTM International’s consumer products committee (F15). 

“This standard aims to establish performance requirements to address entrapment, marking and labeling, instructional literature, and advertising,” says ASTM International member Don Huber of Consumer Reports. “It intends to minimize entrapment and strangulation attributed to the design and stability of the product.”

Manufacturers, testing labs, retailers, consumers, and others are welcome to participate in the review and revision of this standard.
