ASTM International to Receive Corporate Award from Local Charity

ASTM International has been chosen to receive the 2008 Corporate Award from the Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund, a resource center providing education, advocacy, information and financial assistance for the uninsured needs of families caring for seriously ill and physically challenged children.

ASTM will be honored at the Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund's Annual Recognition and Awards Dinner to be held Oct. 7 at the William Penn Inn in Gwynedd Valley, Pa.  The annual event honors the individuals, foundations and corporate partners who have contributed greatly to the Fund's development.  ASTM International has served as a major sponsor of the awards dinner in the past.

In its more than 30 years of existence, the Fund has assisted more than 16,000 families in crisis.  Since moving their headquarters to West Conshohocken, Pa., in 1995, ASTM International has been a regular contributor to the Fund with annual cash donations and other forms of support and services.

Founded in 1976, the Fund was started in honor of Kelly Anne Dolan, who was diagnosed with aplastic anemia only two months after her second birthday.  Started by Kelly's parents after she passed away in 1976, the mission of the Fund was rooted in the hospital experiences and observations of the Dolans and the realization that there were little or no resources available to assist families in these situations.
