ASTM International to Host Informational Webinar on Barrier Face Covering Standard

Today, members of ASTM International’s committee on personal protective clothing and equipment (F23) announced an upcoming informational webinar on the recently approved specification for barrier face coverings (F3502). The webinar will take place Monday, Feb. 22, 2021, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM ET via Zoom.

The standard, which was published earlier this week in conjunction with a technical white paper on PPE, establishes minimum design, performance, labeling, and care requirements for reusable barrier face coverings.

The no-cost webinar will feature presentations from the standard’s technical contacts, Jon Szalajda (NIOSH/CDC), and Jeff Stull (International Personnell Protection, Inc).

The informational overview will cover:

  • the scope of the standard,
  • the standard’s application, and
  • specific requirements related to:
    • product design,
    • labeling,
    • user information, and
    • conformity assessment.
