ASTM International presented its top annual award – the 2023 Award of Merit – to Scott Schroeder for his contributions to ASTM’s fatigue and fracture committee (E08).

The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. Schroeder was recognized for his technical expertise, his dedication to keeping key standards up-to-date, and his consistent efforts to help the committee broaden its scope.

An ASTM International member since 1989, Schroeder is currently senior managing engineer at Exponent, a position he has held since 2016. He received his bachelor of science (1988) and master of science (1989) in engineering mechanics from the University of Wisconsin, and received his Ph.D. in materials from the University of California in 1999.
