ASTM International Honors Robert A. Hallman with Top Annual Award from Key Committee

ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Robert A. Hallman, principal scientist at Armstrong World Industries, for his contributions to the building and environmental acoustics committee (E33).

The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. Hallman was honored for his leadership and meritorious contributions to the committee, with a strong commitment to the pursuit of developing reliable acoustic and fire standards.

An ASTM International member since 1994, Hallman has previously been recognized with the Award of Appreciation (2007, 2019), Outgoing Chair Award (2018), and Wallace Waterfall Award (2019). He is also a member of the fire standards committee (E05).

Hallman joined Armstrong World Industries in 1979, serving as technician, researcher, and laboratory quality and technical manager before starting in his current position in 2005. As principal scientist, he leads testing research and development of laboratory information management systems. Hallman holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Millersville University.
