ASTM International Honors Pamela Shinkoda with Top Annual Award

ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Pamela Shinkoda for her contributions to ASTM’s committee on gypsum and related building materials and systems (C11). 



The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. Shinkoda was recognized for her exceptional work on several ASTM committees, and for her dedicated service towards bettering the built environment.

An ASTM International member since 1998, Shinkoda had been previously honored by the committee with the Award of Appreciation (2019), the Outgoing Chair Award (2019), the Special Service Award (2012) and the Award of Appreciation (2005).

Shinkoda works as a research associate - fire, acoustic, building systems for USG/CGC Inc. (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada), where she has held various positions since 2015. In 1992, she graduated from Concordia University with a bachelor’s degree in building engineering. Before CGC, she worked with several other organizations such as CertainTeed Gypsum, Inc., Rockwool, and ORTECH Corporation. In addition, she serves as a representative at the Gypsum Association and on several Canadian standards organizations and code committees.
