ASTM International Honors Michael Sadar with Top Annual Award

ASTM International presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Michael Sadar for his contributions to ASTM’s committee on water (D19).

The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. Sadar was recognized for his time as both subcommittee and committee chair, his continuous support of members, and generous representation of ASTM’s standards within the scientific community.

An ASTM International member since 1998, Sadar had been previously honored by the committee with an Outstanding Service Award (2007), several Standard Awards for Turbidity Methods (2010, 2012, 2015) and the Max Hecht Award (2016).

Until 2013, Sadar worked as a principal scientist at Hach Company in Loveland, Colorado. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1988 with a bachelor of science in analytical chemistry, with a focus on water analytics. He also has professional memberships with the International Organization for Standardization and the American Water Works Association.
