ASTM International Committee D10 on Packaging Names Patrick J. Nolan New Chair

Patrick J. Nolan, chief operating officer and co-owner of DDL, Inc., in Eden Prairie, Minn., has been named the new chairman of ASTM Committee D10 on Packaging. The 350-member committee is responsible for more than 130 standards published in the Annual Book of ASTM Standards.

Nolan lives in Chanhassen, Minn.

In addition to his work on a number of D10 subcommittees, Nolan serves on ASTM International Committee F02 on Flexible Barrier Materials, and he has been a member of the Committee on Standards. Outside ASTM International, he is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, the Institute of Packaging Professionals, and the University of Wisconsin-Stout Packaging Advisory Board. He is a past board member of the International Safe Transit Association.

Nolan has a great deal of packaging industry experience from positions at MTS Systems and Ecolab (formerly Economics Laboratory) before becoming part of DDL. He graduated from Michigan State University in East Lansing with a B.S. in forestry, and attended its School of Packaging.
