ASTM International, one of the world's largest standards developing organizations, has announced the promotions of three senior level staff members.  The new appointments will go into effect on July 16, 2007. 

Katharine Morgan, general manager, technical committee support, was promoted to vice president, technical committee operations.  Morgan has been with ASTM International since 1984, starting as manager, technical committee operations.  In 1990, she was promoted to director, technical committee operations, and assumed her current position in 2001.  A graduate of Lafayette College, Easton, Pa., with a bachelor's in chemical engineering, Morgan earned her M.B.A. from Widener University, Chester, Pa.  Morgan will be filling the position previously held by Ken Pearson, who now holds the title of senior vice president.

Teresa Cendrowska will serve as the new vice president, global cooperation.  Cendrowska, who joined ASTM in 1989, presently acts as director, external relations.  She spent over ten years as manager, technical committee operations, and two years as manager, new business development, before acquiring her current position in 2002.  Cendrowska received a bachelor's in industrial engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, and also holds an M.B.A from Temple University, Philadelphia, Pa.  Cendrowska will succeed current vice president, global cooperation, Kitty Kono, who will retire from ASTM in August 2007 after 32 years of service.

Jeff Grove was promoted to vice president, global policy and industry affairs.  Grove currently serves as director, government and industry affairs, a position he has held since he was selected to reopen the ASTM Washington office in 2004.  Prior to that, he was the director of the Association for Computing Machinery's Office of Public Policy in Washington, D.C.  He also spent eight years working for the United States Congress, including a three-year term as the staff director of the House Committee on Science Subcommittee on Technology.  A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Grove received his master's in international trade and commerce policy from George Mason University, Fairfax, Va.  In his upcoming role, Grove will work globally with policymakers and multilateral trade organizations to advance ASTM's mission and objectives and build strong awareness and support amongst ASTM's numerous partners from companies and trade associations.
