ASTM Committee on Packaging To Hold Workshop During October Committee Week

ASTM International Committee D10 on Packaging will conduct a workshop on Packaging on Oct. 12 from 1:00 to 5:30 p.m. CDT at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas.  The workshop will be held during the standards development meetings of Committee D10.

Following a welcome by Marilyn Baker, senior innovation consultant in global quality, The Coca-Cola Co., and a current member of ASTM International’s board of directors, the following presentations will be made during the workshop:

Improving the Sustainability of Thermoformed Polyolefin Food Packaging Through UPES Interpolymer Modification—Eric Vignola, Business Development Scientist, Nova Chemicals;

Abbott Sustainability—Vance Lambert, Abbott Laboratories;

The Journey Towards Packaging Sustainability Standards—Mary K. Peck, packaging specialist, ECBC Packaging Team;

Boeing Packaging Best Practices—Steve Pallardy, shipping operations/PHS&T engineering, Boeing;

Child Resistant Packaging Protocol Testing—Lori Dixon, principal, Great Lakes Marketing;

Configuration Control of Packaging Technical Data—Randy Weber, U.S. Army;

Importance of ASTM Specifications in Military Packaging—Mary K. Peck, packaging specialist, ECBC Packaging Team; and

Update on ISO TC122/SC 4 Packaging and Environment—Marilyn Baker, The Coca-Cola Co.
