ASTM International is hosting its 5th Annual Autonomy in Aviation Symposium, organized by ASTM’s autonomy design and operations in aviation administrative committee (AC377).
The symposium will be held Nov. 12-13, 2024, at the Santa Clara Marriott in Santa Clara, CA.
ASTM AC377 promotes collaboration among aviation autonomy stakeholders to improve safety and efficiency in aviation. The theme of its 5th annual symposium will be “The Aircraft and Beyond: Autonomy at the Systems Level.” Attendees will:
- Explore system-level considerations for integrating autonomy into aircraft
- Discover the latest innovations and applications in aviation autonomy from both industry and government experts
- Learn how operators can employ autonomy at the fleet level
- Examine and consider how standards can facilitate regulatory approvals for autonomous aircraft
“Our fifth annual symposium will look at the relationship between autonomy, the aircraft, and the broader system in which the aircraft operates,” said Steve Cook, Northrop Grumman fellow in airworthiness and chair of AC377. “We’ll also explore the key role of standards in safely moving the industry forward.”
