A proposed ASTM International standard will help engineers to better understand how various climates affect water vapor transmission of water-resistive barriers and air barriers (WRB/AB) in building envelopes. ASTM’s performance of buildings committee (E06) is developing the proposed standard.

A proposed ASTM International standard for carbon intensity score will help consumers who want to make purchase decisions based on sustainable bio-based products. ASTM’s industrial biotechnology committee (E62) is developing the proposed standard. 

Participants Sought for Development of Non-Volatile Residue Content Biofuels Standard

Interested parties are invited to join in the development of a proposed ASTM International standard for determining the non-volatile residue in ethanol and ethanol solutions. ASTM’s committee on bioenergy and industrial chemicals from biomass (E48) is developing the proposed standard. 

According to ASTM International member Kari Cook, monitoring non-volatile residue  content is an important aspect of maintaining product quality. 

Proposed Standard Would Help Measure Surface Skid Resistance

ASTM International’s vehicle-pavement systems committee (E17) is developing a proposed standard that will help measure skid resistance for a wide variety of surfaces. The proposed standard describes the procedure for using portable continuous reading, fixed-slip measuring equipment (CFME) to measure skid resistance.

The purpose of the revision is to incorporate prescription lens carrier requirements into the standard (F2713).
