ASTM International Vehicle-Pavement Systems Committee Honors Mike Bilbee

ASTM International’s vehicle-pavement systems committee (E17) has presented its Billiard-Stubstad Award to Mike Bilbee.

Established in 2015 in honor of Gary Billiard and Richard Stubstad, the Billiard-Stubstad Award is intended to recognize individuals who have made exemplary technical, practical, and/or administrative contributions to the pavement engineering community through their standards development efforts.

Bilbee’s career focus is vehicle testing, and his most recent effort with ASTM has been overseeing the E274 locked wheel friction tester calibration and correlation program. He currently works as a senior test engineer at Transportation Research Center, Inc., a position he has held since 2009, but he has been with the organization for over three decades in various roles.

Bilbee earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from University of Dayton (2004).
