ASTM International’s nonferrous metals and alloys committee (B02) has presented its Gary M. Kralik Distinguished Service Award to consultant John Grubb.
Grubb was recognized for his many years of distinguished service to B02 in continuously addressing critical needs in the standardization of nickel and cobalt alloy products.
In addition to ASTM International, Grubb is a member of several other professional organizations, including ASM International and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. ASTM’s steel committee (A01) has previously honored him with the Award of Merit (2018), the Founding Committee Award (2020), and the Lifetime Achievement Award (2024).
Grubb’s career focus is corrosion resistant alloys and has been involved with dozens of patents and publications. His most recent career position was with Allegheny Technologies Inc. (ATI) until 2017; however he is now a retired consultant. He has served as chair of the A01.17 subcommittee since 2012. Grubb received his bachelor of science degree in metallurgy from Lehigh University (1973) and his doctorate in materials engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1982).
